Privacy
This site is run by Richard Craddock. Contact: [email protected]. We collect as little as we can. There are no accounts, no advertising and no analytics cookies.
When you vote
- Your vote: the session and your yes/no answer, with the time.
- A device cookie (
wiww_did): a random ID, encrypted, set only when you vote and kept for 400 days. It exists only to stop the same device voting twice. We store a keyed hash of it, not the ID itself. It is strictly necessary for the voting service you've asked to use, so we don't ask for consent. - An IP hash: your IP address passed through a keyed hash whose key changes every day and is deleted after 48 hours, so it can't be turned back into your IP. We use it to limit abuse (30 votes an hour per network) and delete it from stored votes after 30 days. We never store your raw IP address.
Our legal basis is legitimate interests: running a fair vote and preventing abuse.
Stored in your browser
- Your light/dark preference and a list of sessions you've voted on, in local storage. These never leave your device and you can clear them at any time.
Other services
- Cloudflare delivers the site and runs Turnstile, the check that you're human. Turnstile loads only when you vote. Cloudflare processes your IP address and may set its own security cookies, such as
__cf_bm. See Cloudflare's privacy policy. - Laravel Cloud hosts the site and its database.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for access to, correction of or deletion of your data. Because we only hold hashed identifiers, we usually can't link data to you; tell us the device and approximate time and we'll do our best. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
